Question bout Take Dmg & Deal Dmg?
There are some spells that makes targets "deals dmg" or "Takes dmg".So,does "Takes dmg" bypasses armor and so "deals dmg" does not?

Generally this is true although there are a few exceptions like Lightbringer's Gaze, the description stating takes damage but that damage being reduced by your's enemy's armor. Some skills which use deal damage in their description like [skill=text]Vile Touch[/skill] actually ignore armor.

untyped damage always ignores armor. Only typed damage (like fire dmg, piercing dmg, chaos damage (yes!), blunt dmg etc) is affected by armor.
So, a skill that reads 'target foe takes 50 damage' will bypass armor just as hard as a skill that reads 'deal 50 dmg to target foe'. Only if it reads 'deal 50 fire dmg to target foe' it's affected by armor. |
